So Tuesdays I have figured are sometimes a really hard day for me to blog, so sorry for having multiple days 2 posts in a row.

I am pretty happy with my weight loss over the last 2 adys.  I had done 2 days of PV on the weekend and didn't intend on having any Vegetables on Day 35 but I had a work lunch and I didn't want to seem crazy to people only eating a piece of chicken breast when salad was available too.  So I have technically have 4 PV days in a row.  I lost quite a bit of weight doing that.  I think I am going to go off and next weekend and start next week the same way to see if the vegetables really help with my weight loss.  I feel so much more satisfied when they are in my diet.

I am going to have a PP day today, following with a PV day tomorrow, then another PP day on Friday and then have my double PV days for the weekend.  I think I will start next week the same way, where I have a light vegetable serving on the Monday, maybe a salad with lunch or dinner, then follow it with a PP day.  I really want to find my best method for incorporating PV days.  I think that is what I am most looking forward to about the stabilization phase(aside from being at my goal weight) is you can eat unlimited PV everyday.  I feel guilty eating a PV day, but they really are magical compared to the PP days.

I am really shitting the bed when it comes to my exercise attempts.  I am sure I would be into the 130's right now if I was exercising on a daily basis, or at least doing something.  My boyfriend has baseball practice tonight and I just might try to take that opportunity to get back into the gym.  Not that he holds me back from it, it is just a lot harder when he's here to get the motivation to go.  Usually once I get back in, I like it, and I can go more and more, but I just cannot seem to find that UMPH to go for one day.  It doesn't help that I am continually losing weight NOT going.

Yesterday I hit a pretty big milestone with my clothing.  This time last year, I was around 148lbs.  I had bought a pair of pants from Ricki's, they were on clearance for $20 and I adored the fabric, a nice grey/black mix.  They were a size 8, where I was currently a size 10, and I was working out a lot at the moment so I thought i'd buy them to work my way into them.  Well needless to say, over the course of the following months my weight went up and not down.  A recent closet clean out I found these pants and kept them in mind(tags still on and everything).  Yesterday I put on my one go-to pair of gray pants, and I really just looked silly in them.   They are completely falling off of me, and I have the saggiest ass you have ever seen in them, so I thought "I should try those gray pants".  Needless to say, they slipped right on, and they are not even remotely tight.  It was seriously a pretty big milestone, it tells me in a couple more pounds I am going to be a size 6...like a real life size 6.  That has NEVER been a number in my reality.

I am really feeling great, and couldn't be happier with the way this diet is working out.

Day 32, 33 & 34 - The Dukan Diet

Current Weight: 143.0 lbs           Lost this Weekend: .8 lbs
Total Lost: 17.2 lbs

So I got to where I said I wanted to be at the end of this weekend!  I am officially 5 lbs away from hitting my lowest weight ever, 138 lbs.  I am hoping to accomplish this within the next few weeks.

My main goal this week is to begin exercising on a regular basis.  I am convinced I would be well ahead of where I am if I consistently was going to the gym or even just walking the prescribed 30-minutes everyday.  This week I only have one commitment tonight and then I am a free-bird the rest of the week.  It will be interesting to see if I can pull out 3-4 days of real exercise, what kind of difference, if any, that will have on my overall weight loss.

My diet was really good this weekend.  I ate a WHOLE bunch of salad, because that is really the easiest thing to get my hands on.  It generally is always available with a grilled chicken breast on the top, and dressing on the side.  I was away at a baseball tournament, so I had prepared myself a large container of red/orange/yellow peppers cut-up.  Those were done within the first day, and then Sunday I struggled with some hunger since I was low on snacks.  I did have to break down & have 4 McD's hamburger patties, which wasn't on schedule, but I was driving & having a salad just wasn't in the cards while behind the wheel.

The best part of being my new weight, is I can really start to see my figure developing the way I want it to.  Granted I am losing some of my 'upper' parts, which make me a little side, but realistically I would much rather have smaller thighs/stomache along with a smaller chest, then have a big chest & big thighs/stomache.   I can see that in 23 lbs from now, I will have a nice flat stomache & curvy hips, so I will still look 'feminine' and not like a stick.

I can't throw out a long recap today as I am running late already, but hopefully I can keep up some weight loss today & hopefully by the end of the week I am inching closer to 140 lbs.

Day 31 - The Dukan Diet

Current Weight: 143.8 lbs           Lost Yesterday: 0.0 lbs
Total Lost:  16.4 lbs

Breakfast:
- Yogurt & Oats

Snack:
- Asparagus

Lunch:
- Thai Salad from McDonald's with a Chicken Breast

Dinner:
- 2 hamburger patties and asparagus

So I was not surprise this morning when I stepped on the scale and I hadn't lost anything.  Yesterdays number was so big that I feel like I won't lose anything for a couple of days.  So yesterday was day 3 of my protein+vegetable (PV from now and PP for pure protein) experiment.   With the results I was getting on PV I thought I should give it a whirl and if it worked for me, then I would continue with a higher rate of PV versus PP.  It looks like a 3rd day has no benefit.  I clearly didn't eat anything out of the norm that would have made me not lose weight, so I guess the PP days have their benefit.  Even if I am not losing when I step on the scale that morning after a PP day, it is likely that all that catches up once I have a PV day.  I am going to have a PP day today, and then two PV days on this weekend.

We are going away for the weekend starting tomorrow morning, so should be interesting to see how I hold up.  The b/f has a baseball tournament about 2 hours south of home, so it will be an overnight trip, and I am not sure if there will be a fridge in our hotel room.  My main concern: Sunday morning yogurt.  I will pack the cooler pretty heavily with ice to ensure I have a cool, not gone bad, serving of yogurt for Sunday morning.  I don't think this weekend will be as tricky as last weekends BBQ.  With them being in a baseball tournament, I am more distracted and not around bags of chips and delicious white cake hehe.

The weekends without the scale are kind of nice.  As long as I eat well, and am somewhat active, the Monday morning weight loss is usually a nice treat after the weekend (not counting last weekends).  Every morning I have the same routine, wake-up, do my morning reports, go to the bathroom, then weight myself.  I am free of work from the weekend and kind of free of the burden of the daily weigh-in.  I am hoping to be down at least .8lbs this weekend to get to the 143 mark.  143lbs = 5 lbs away from my lowest weight ever.

One of the weirdest parts of me losing weight, I can see my ribs.  Like obviously if you stretch hard enough you can see your ribs, but when I was chubby, they were not a frequent sight.  Now just a little stretch and I am at rib-visibility.  Has to be a good sign.  Means less fat between my outsides and my ribs.  I like it.

Let's hope this weekend goes off without any transgressions, and I come back a lighter person.

Day 30 - The Dukan Diet

Current Weight: 143.8 lbs          Lost yesterday:  1.4 lbs
Total Lost: 16.4 lbs

Breakfast:
- Yogurt & Oats

Lunch:
- Thai Salad from McDonald's, no Thai Glaze & raspberry dressing instead of asian sesame

Snack:
- Asparagus

Dinner:
- Large piece of Top Sirloin & a serving of asparagus

At night:
- a Medium coffee, 1 milk, 2 sweetener

Holy Crap!  I did not expect to see the number I did when I jumped on the scale this morning.  I stepped on hoping to break the 145's, I thought it was totally do-able as yesterday was a great eating day.  Forget the 145's, I skipped the 144's entirely!  I can't believe this.  It looks as though any of that cake I snuck on Sunday has absolutely disappeared.  I am still kind of in shock.

This was my 2nd day of the 2-day routine of the vegetable+protein day.  I think I am going to try it again today, if my body is reacting better to vegetable days, I am going to continue to do them.  I very well could get no weight loss tomorrow, but I think it is worth trying another veggie day, as they are MUCH easier to get through then the pure protein days for me.  When I have a pure protein day, I am lucky to lose .2 lbs, which is a somewhat discouraging number when you want to see things like .4 to .6 on a daily basis.  Hopefully I hop in the scale tomorrow & have similar results.  After doing the 2-day protein last week, I determined it wasn't as beneficial as doing the 2-protein+veggie day, so I am going to opt out of that, but I will give this additional veggie day a whirl & hopefully I can see some good numbers.

The weird thing is, previously when I did no exercise, I saw very little results.  The last couple days I have been particularly sitting on my ass post-work, and I am seeing these results.  Granted this could have a lot to do with the lack of weight loss over the weekend, and it is just catching up, but who knows.

Another thing I did last night that I haven't done yet, is drink a coffee.  I am not much of a coffee drinker, I actually NEVER drink coffee, where on the reverse my boyfriend is addicted.  But last night before his baseball game, I thought, I kind of want something other than water to drink, and not being a huge fan of diet soda, I decided to go for a coffee (I was of course picking one up for my addict-boyfriend and his addict-cousin).  It clearly had no ill-effect on my progress, and maybe it had something to do with speeding it up.  I will try drinking one again tonight, see if it could be my 'liquid asparagus'.

Let's see how this 3rd day Protein+veggie treats me.  I am actually really looking forward to tomorrows weigh-in.

Stats - 4 Week Update

So having reached 15lbs lost today, I thought it would be interesting after 4 weeks to see how much my measurements have changed.  Check it out:

Thighs:
Start: 24 inches     Today: 22 inches

Hips:
Start: 40 inches     Today: 38 inches

Waist:
Start: 36 inches     Today: 34 inches

Chest:
Start: 38.5 inches   Today: 36 inches

Arms:
Start: 11.5 inches   Today: 11 inches

Neck:
Start: 14.5 inches   Today: 14 inches

So in total, I have lost 11.5 inches over my body.  To be honest, I thought the number would be higher, but then again, I have never done 'measurements' before, so I don't know how much is a lot of inches to lose.

The reason I thought it would be higher is because I look significantly different.  My clothes fit fantastically, I have no bulging, my skinny clothes feel kinda loose.   Putting it in perspective though, I have lost almost a foot of fat off my body, so I think that is significant.

The most important thing for me, instead of numbers, is how I am feeling.  I am getting compliments from people, I am not as tired doing simple tasks like walking up the stairs, and I really feel like I am having a life changing experience.

Losing this weight, and all those inches, is just a reinforcement to me that this IS working & if I stick to it, I WILL be skinny.  Seems like a no-brainer now that I have gotten this far.

I am looking forward to week 8, and seeing the transformation in those stats.

Day 29 - The Dukan Diet

Current Weight: 145.2 lbs         Lost Yesterday: .8lbs
Total Lost: 15.0 lbs!!!

Breakfast:
- Yogurt & Oats

Snack:
- Mix of Red/Orange/Yellow Peppers
- Celery Sticks

Lunch:
- Salad, with peppers & a chicken breast

Dinner:
- Chicken breast, salad & asparagus

I did it!  I have lost 15 entire pounds.  I figured with the zero weight lost over the weekend, I was due for a somewhat big number, but I didn't expect to be at 15 lbs lost this morning.  I feel great, it took me 4 weeks & 1 day to lose 15lbs.  I completely love this diet.  On a day-to-day basis, it is so easy to follow, and even if you have a bit of a transgression, and cheat, it doesn't permanently stay and within a few days you are back on track.

I am telling you, asparagus is the vegetable of the weight loss God's.  If I eat asparagus, I have always lost weight the following day.  At our grocery store now, they have these 'microwave asparagus' dishes.  They are in the section with the pre-packaged salads.  Basically, asparagus has gone up to $4.99/lb in Canada, it was $2.99/lb when I started this diet a month ago.  These microwave dishes are $2.99 for a container, they have two servings of aspargus for me in them (I would say around a pound, maybe a little less) & they cook amazing.  I literally pop them in for 3 minutes and they come out perfect every time.  I stocked up & bought 4 packs yesterday so I always have them on-hand, and I didn't want the price to sky-rocket like the fresh stuff has.  They don't expire for another week and a half, so I should be able to get through them just fine.

I will be doing two-posts today to update my measurements.  So check it out.

Think I can break 145 tomorrow???  I may just have to exercise tonight to try and push me over the edge.

Day 25, 26, 27 & 28 - The Dukan Diet

Current Weight: 146.0 lbs           Lost this long-weekend: 0.00000 lbs
Total Lost: 14.2 lbs

*sigh*....what a long-weekend, and as you can see, not fantastic numbers.  A whole lotta zero's.

I had a major transgression this weekend.  On Sunday, we hosted a BBQ.  With chips, nuts & spinach dip, I thought I was going to buckle and just stuff my face, but I withheld.  Then it happened. I was alone, with a vanilla cake in my kitchen & I ate a small sliver, then after that sliver, I couldn't stop and ate about an 2 inch slice.  Oh man it was sooooooo good & I almost think it was worth not losing a single pound this weekend just to taste that cake.  The only issue with the cake thing, was I went into the rest of the night thinking "well I already cheated, so what's a little fruit?", so I started with the watermelon, then the cantaloupe then the honeydew melon.  I have to say, I didn't even touch anything 'bad', besides the cake, which impressed me, but after some binging on fruit & that amazing piece of cake, I didn't even bother weighing myself Monday morning.

This morning stepped onto the scale, and to no surprise, I had lost no weight...the good news, I didn't gain any weight & I actually feel 'skinnier' today, then I had all weekend, so I am getting back on track.

I don't know about you, but I have this one roll of fat on my stomache.  It sits right under my chest, and is only about an inch thick, but it is not my favourite part of my upper body.  This morning, I looked in the mirror, and it is actually disappearing.  I really have to 'bend' to get that roll to appear & even my belly feels like it is disappearing.  Despite having not lost a pound, I am feeling fantastic in terms of my weight.  Clothes fit amazing, I wore a 'small' t-shirt this weekend & not like 'small from a ladies store', like small from a young womens store, so it is a legitimate small.  Loved it.

Today I hope to do a lot better.  I have made my lunch & tonight I am going to make sure I have a whole bunch of asparagus with my dinner to try & combat the 146.0lb mark.   Unfortunately I am feeling a little under the weather today.  My throat is sore & I am just tired after such a busy weekend.  I literally drank 1L of water on my 40 minute drive to work today, yikes.  The good thing is, I am not retaining it I don't think because I have already gone to the bathroom twice.  One weird thing that "brain" the blogger guy I followed spoke of last week, was the nightly dry-mouth.  Like there is a serious lack of saliva.  I am not sure what it is from, and at first, I thought it was just me, but he mentioned it last week & I am happy to hear that other people are experiencing the dry-mouth in the middle of the night.  I have a glass of water by my bed, but it at least wakes me up once a night.  This could be effecting my throat, I am not sure, hopefully a good nights sleep tonight will have me feeling as good as I am looking :)

Hopefully I have better numbers to share tomorrow, that is if I can resist the left-over cake sitting in my kitchen right now.  UGH!
