WEEKEND RECAP:

So over the weekend, there was a couple good & a few bad things that happened.  Let's start with the good.

Saturday my boyfriend was kind enough to finally bring me to African Lion Safari.  It is a zoo type attraction, and you drive through the actual safari in your own car and are VERY close to the animals. After 7 years of begging, Saturday was my day.  The part where you drive in your car, obviously doesn't count as exercise, but there is a whole other park & let's just say, I walked beyond my daily necessary amount.  Also, at lunch, I managed to sway from the amazing deep fried menu & ordered a plain Chicken burger, and gave up my bun to my Double Cheeseburger & fry eating boyfriend.  After we left here, he has been whining about his lack of clothes (our bedroom floor says otherwise), so we hit the mall.  In total, I am guessing I did about 2-3 hours of walking on Saturday.

Another good was busting out asparagus.  Brain (the blogger guy I follow), he swears by asparagus, and there are many articles to back the benefits of asparagus & weight loss.  So after a couple days in a not huge number slump, I ate some asparagus & some drastic numbers came off.  Lucky for me, I love it, so I am going to literally try & incorporate it into every vegetable day.

Now the bad:  Sunday morning, I was 150.0 lbs.  I LOVED this number.  This meant 25 pounds to go, and the way this diet is going, feels completely attainable.  Then I had to go to a baby shower.  Oddly enough, the baby shower was for my friend who's Mom did the diet & had much success & was part of my inspiration.  It was held at a greek restaurant, so resisting the usual Potatoes/Rice that comes with the meal, I asked for JUST the salad & chicken kabob.  In my lapse of judgement, I forgot to ask with no feta & dressing on the side.  So when the salad came, I don't know what dressing was on it (traditional greek?) but there had to be oil in it, which is like DO NOT EAT #1.  I managed to pick around most of the Feta and savoured the bites of the feta I decided to not pick around haha.  I only ate about half of the salad & then finished my sad, lonely looking chicken kabob.  I feel like a deserve a MAJOR pat on the back, for resisting this flaky, whip-cream & strawberry filled CAKE!   It looked unreal & like no cake I have EVER seen in my life.  There was probably a couple tears in my eyes.  Seriously, if I can resist that, I can resist anything!

Then for dinner, we went to my boyfriends Dad's house.  I stuck with just Salad, broccoli/carrots & a piece of ham.  I am not sure if the ham was low-fat or not, but I had just one half of a piece & was satisfied enough.  I am still struggling with the salad dressing.  Both times I have had salad, I have had raspberry vinaigrette & it seems healthy enough, and I don't put it on, I just lightly dip so I am usually having less than a tbsp.

I really am feeling on a roll with this diet now.  After resisting that cake, I really saw how focused I really am & that this is actually going to work.  All I need to do is begin to incorporate more walking into this routine, because the results don't lie the days after I walk a lot, so hopefully I can break the 150's tomorrow.
