Current Weight: 147.4 lbs Lost this weekend: 2.6 lbs
Total Lost: 12.8 lbs
I am really pleased with my weight this morning. My goal was to be in the low 148's by today & I am almost in the Low 147's. This was actually quite the accomplishment for me this weekend. This was our first weekend since being on the diet that I was in a 'munchie' setting. We spent the weekend at a cottage, and the weather wasn't great, so a lot of time was spent indoors, playing games & snacking...like non-stop. I was surrounded by BBQ Lay's, Jelly Beans, & Triple Chocolate Fudge Cookies (freshly made via the bakery). I did not have one bite, not even a lick of any of the above items. It was sooo hard though. This is one thing I realize the Dukan is missing for me, something I can really munch on that feels like I am eating chips. This also shows me how far I have already come.
I generally would have been the initiator of opening any bag of chips. I would be the one who when everyone has had enough would keep going because it simply tastes and feels so good in my mouth. When I think about this, I realize how many calories/fat I probably used to eat on a weekend. You don't realize how quickly those things add up. Those delicious cookies I spoke of, they were 7g of fat each! I easily would have normally polished off 10 over the weekend.
Another piece of food I tried this weekend was eating burgers(at home - not McD's), and to be honest, I think this is going to become more regular. They feel like I am cheating, but I bought the PC(private-label brand in canada) Blue Menu Portion Wise Burgers. They are 7g of fat each, tons of protein, and honestly, heaven in my mouth! I was worried they may have a negative effect on my progress since they are a burger, but it doesn't look like it effected it at all. I even took a squirt of ketchup with it. I realized I didn't miss the bun at all, it was JUST as good without the bun.
Also, I am starting to incorporate salad more and more. I have been eating all my salads with the slightest amount of raspberry vinaigrette dressing (as I have talked about before). It looks to not be having an adverse effect on my weight loss, and I can get this at McDonald's. This is going to be a great option for me for my 'work lunches'. I am finding myself eating the same piece of chicken breast everyday, because it is available & I can expense it through work. Now I can diverisfy & have this, I just basically ask them for only the lettuce & the chicken breast, but it is very satisfying.
This weekend I did get a good amount of walking in, plus yesterday 35 minutes of cutting the grass. I really think this is playing an important role. I dug out my ipod & am going to make a serious effort to incorporate walking, even if my boyfriend won't join along. I saw some great progress this weekend & I want to keep it rolling for the next couple months. I still have just over 25 lbs to lose, but it feels completely attainable.
