Current Weight: 153.0 lbs Lost over the weekend: 2.4 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 7.2 lbs
So it looks like I won`t be much of a weekend blogger, at least not in the summer months. So going forward, I will recap Friday-Sunday on Monday, and do Daily Blogs during the week. I spent the weekend at my boyfriend`s baseball tournament, got very little sleep & had zero time to blog. The good news: I managed to not sway from the diet. I didn`t keep track of what I was eating, so I my usual meal breakdown won`t be done on the Monday Weekend Posts (unless I take the effort to take note).
For Breakfast, I am eating the same thing everyday, and am happy with it. I eat a bowl of Yogurt with my oats, and it satisfies me completely. Beginning this diet, I was worried that maybe the yogurt I was using, Silhouette Vanilla (for all the Canadians), wasn`t going to be appropriate, since it wasn`t natural, and had things like modified corn starch. Based on the results I have seen in the last week, I think I can conclude that this yogurt is what the Dukan calls for.
Lunch seems to generally be consisting of Chicken Breasts. They are readily available in most places and I am not sick of it yet. I just wish I could be dipping it in certain sauces, but I don`t know exactly what is `okay`, so I don`t risk potentially eating something that will cause my weight to go up. I might resort to it if I get too sick of Chicken, but so far, I am doing okay.
This weekend I had a Tossed Salad with a Chicken Breast for dinner on Saturday. I had no clue what dressing to order. I asked her for their `healthiest` dressing, and I got raspberry vinaigrette. I am sure this is not on the Dukan okay list, but I got it on the side and hardly put any of the lettuce when I dipped it in. Since I didn`t do a day-by-day weight, I am not sure if this had a one day effect.
I have to say things are going really well. There have been moments of weakness, where I feel kinda empty, but throw some protein in me and I feel okay. Another thing that is kinda happening, is I feel tired. I didn`t have a great weekend of sleep, so I am going to see if it persists, but I guess if I am losing weight, tired-ness may just be a side effect I can deal with.
Not going to lie, I am impressing myself with my self-discipline. Being away from home, we are forced to eat not great food choices. Tim Hortons is usually a biggy. I drink iced-capps like they are going out of style (with Chocolate Milk, so the healthy version), and that usually leads to either a donut or muffin on the side. I managed to resist all weekend.
On top of that, we had a family dinner. The menu: Homemade Pizza. YIKES! My parents were kind enough to buy me steaks, so after having just one not-huge piece of steak, I was fully satisfied. Even though the pizza looked amazing, and the pile of cheese that went on top of the pizza looked even better, I managed to resist.
The desserts re-confirmed to me, why I am fat. The desserts were sooo hard to resist. My mom made my FAVOURITE banana dessert & my sister-in-law made her delicious strawberry whipped dessert thing. This is a regular occurrence, and I would have usually eaten two full bowls of the Banana dessert & a plate of the strawberry dessert. How I managed to not eat an ounce of either of these desserts is beyond me, but I really want to give this diet a shot and I didn`t see the point. I really didn`t think I could even say no to that dessert, this just shows some progress in just a week. I fully intend on having that banana dessert on my first celebration meal once my weight is lost...something to look forward to!
So that was my weekend and my overall progress so far. If I can do it, anyone can. If you eat eggs, I guarantee this diet would be 100% easier, but even without it, I am managing to stay full & satisfied.
